Flights to resume at Newcastle Airport next week as team reveals safety plan to protect passengers and staff

Ahead of the flights next week, the airport team has also revealed a 10-point plan of safety measures to protect both passengers and staff at the site.

Hide AdStaring from Monday, Loganair will run six flights per week to Aberdeen and KLM five flights per week to Amsterdam.
In the second half of June, EasyJet will start up to four weekly flights to Belfast, Eastern Airways up to six flights per week to Aberdeen and double-daily weekday flights to Southampton.
Loganair will then add an additional six flights per week to Southampton and Air France up to five flights every week to Paris.

Hide AdRyanair is also expected to launch two flights per week to Alicante.
Further flights are scheduled to begin operating throughout July and August.

Hide AdThese are the safety measures which will be in place at Newcastle Airport as part of the 10-point plan:
*Anyone displaying coronavirus symptoms, or who has a member of their household self-isolating, should not come to the airport
*Only car parks without human touch points will be in operation
*Trial of temperature-testing technology
*Face masks must be worn within the terminal building
*Only passengers and staff to enter the terminal.

*Two-metre social distancing enforced where possible.
*No shops or restaurants in operation, at least initially
