Former Hartlepool student launches first of its kind business after setting up mobile photo studio

Photographer Jamie Tyerman, 24, who studied at the Northern School of Art in town, has launched his own businesses after shooting some of the biggest names in the Premier League and models and celebs at London Fashion Week.

Now he has launched new venture PictureVan, the UK’s first professional portrait studio on wheels, specialising in staff headshots for North East businesses.

Jamie has previously worked on clothing shoots for luxurious men's store END Clothing.

His photographs have also featured on Ted Baker campaigns and in 2018 he won the Anjool Maldé Photography Award for Commercial Photography.

After studying a degree in commercial photography at The Northern School of Art, Jamie took photos of many famous faces at London Fashion Week including rapper Stormzy, model and TV presenter Alexa Chung and McFly's Dougie Poynter.

He decided to launch PictureVan after spotting a gap in the market.

Jamie, from Yarm, said: "The North East is currently thriving with successful businesses and I'm excited to launch and begin work with them.

PictureVan will focus on taking pictures of staff at businesses across the North East.

"PictureVan offers a unique understanding of what companies want. Providing businesses with creative and uniformed photography for their staff headshots.

"There aren't many studios in the North East that offer headshots as their main focus, having a travelling service with specific expertise in this area is a unique option for clients."

PictureVan also offers videography for ‘talking heads' style introductory videos of staff and can also provide product photography for e-commerce websites and restaurants.

Jamie hopes the business will help raise the profile of companies across the North East, before he looks to expand into other areas.

He added: "Because we come on site with our own ready-made studio it can be done quickly and efficiently in groups and there's no waiting around.

“Hopefully some of the businesses in the region will give us a try."

Jamie has also photographed players and managers of several Premier League football teams including Liverpool, Manchester City and Newcastle United snapping Jurgen Klopp and Jose Mourinho from the sidelines.
