Massive wind farm to create 120 jobs in Hartlepool in 'record breaking' deal

As part of the agreement GE Renewable Energy will establish its marshalling harbour activities at Able Seaton Port, which will serve as the base for turbine service equipment, installation and commissioning for the Dogger Bank Wind farm, which will stretch along 80 miles of the North-East coast.
It has placed a turbine order with GE Renewable Energy.
Recruitment is due to start in early 2021 with turbine installation beginning in 2023.

Hide AdThe contract award, which is subject to a final agreement, includes an order for 190 huge offshore wind turbines to be installed in the North Sea.
The turbines have a 220m rotor covering 38,000 square metres, three times bigger than the London Eye.
Each blade is 107m long, double the wing-span of The Angel of the North.
The wind farm will be capable of powering up to 4.5 million homes each year when completed in 2026. A single rotation of the blades can power one home for more than two days.

Hide AdThe financial details have not been revealed although the deal is described as “record breaking”.
