Lovely scenes as Hartlepool children don pyjamas and grab their favourite books for annual Bedtime Stories event
Pupils at St Aidan’s Primary School in Hartlepool cosied up in their pyjamas with their favourite books for a special event.
Youngsters in reception and Key Stage One at the school in Loyalty Road returned after home time in their night clothes for Bedtime Stories.
St Aidan’s has hosted the annual event every year for a number of years to help children develop a love for reading.
Teacher Kirsty Lightowler explained: “Children in reception and key stage one were invited into school to listen to bedtime stories with the teachers.
“Children and teachers wore pyjamas and had hot chocolate and biscuits. Parents and carers could also listen in or enjoy refreshments in the hall.“The event was put on to promote enjoyment for reading and to encourage that special sharing of a bedtime story.
“The event has been running for many years and is always very successful and enjoyable.”
