Peterlee Care Home put on parties and competitions to celebrate their hardworking staff.
A garden party was a great success despite being forced indoors by downpours.

Many came as characters from soap Coronation Street with the odd Thunderbird thrown in as well.
Angela Rushton, the home’s activities co-ordinator, said: “We have a lot of old photographs of Coronation Street for our dementia residents and a lot of others watch it so we thought they would recognise who we were supposed to be.
“We had Bet Lynch and Roy’s Rolls. It was really funny.”
Throughout the week the home on Westcott Way, Peterlee, which provides residential and nursing care, has held competitions for drawing, pool, best joke and best selfie.

Angela added: “We have done it for the last four years. All the night and day staff who would normally not see each other take part and get together.
“Everyone has had a great time. We have parties a couple of times a month for residents and singers coming in, but we have had something on every day this week.
“I think everyone is looking forward to a rest now.”
