The Mail’s chief photographer Frank Reid has been out and about every day this week capturing the changing landscape as people adjust to a totally different way of life.
Most businesses have been forced to close and many usually busy routes are very quiet as more of us work from home.
Here is a selection of pictures showing how Hartlepool is adapting to the ‘new normal’.
1. York Road
Normally, one of the busiest parts of Hartlepool town centre, this stretch of York Road between Park Road and the Burn Valley roundabout looked more like a ghost town on Thursday. Photo: Frank Reid
2. Sea air at Seaton

3. Stockton Street
Stockton Street alongside Middleton Grange shopping centre and Hartlepool College of Further Education is normally non-stop with cars but on Thursday morning there was barely a vehicle to be seen. Photo: Frank Reid
