Covid cases are continuing to rise in Hartlepool

12 Hartlepool areas where the Covid infection rate is higher than national average

As Hartlepool continues to see an increase in cases, we take a look at the areas with the most confirmed cases of Covid-19.

These are the 12 areas in and around Hartlepool with the highest Covid case rates recorded between Saturday, January 2 and Friday, January 8, according to official figures – and which are above England’s national average.

In the seven-day period, 750 confirmed cases were confirmed in Sunderland – up from 729 the seven days up to January 1.

The case rate takes into account the number of people living in each area compared to the number of people who have tested positive for the virus and are measured by 100,000 people.

The figures are based on tests carried out in laboratories (pillar one of the Government’s testing programme) and in the wider community (pillar two). Pictures are for illustrative purposes only.
