The 13 Hartlepool areas with the highest Covid case rates as town sees fall in rate for first time in a month

Areas in and around Hartlepool have seen a fall in weekly Covid cases for the first time since Christmas and the start of the third lockdown.

These are the 13 areas in and around Hartlepool with the highest Covid case rates recorded between Thursday, January 7 and Wednesday, January 13, according to official figures.

In the seven-day period, 523 cases were confirmed in Hartlepool – which is down from 731 the week before.

The case rate takes into account the number of people living in each area compared to the number of people who have tested positive for the virus and are measured by 100,000 people.

The figures are based on tests carried out in laboratories (pillar one of the Government’s testing programme) and in the wider community (pillar two). Pictures are for illustrative purposes only.
