Coronavirus: How Hartlepool reacted to UK's new lockdown measures against COVID-19 outbreak

Mail readers have had their say on the UK Government’s new measures to fight back against the spread of the coronavirus – and almost two-thirds think the “lockdown” imposed by Prime Minister Boris Johnson this week does not go far enough.

The Prime Minister also ordered all “non-essential” shops and businesses to close and barred public gatherings of more than two people.

Roger Sirs: “The instructions from the PM go as far as they can at the moment. To go further needs legislation (laws) and the ability to enforce (police & troops on the streets). Not something to be introduced unless you have to!”
