Heart-warming video of Hartlepool care home residents dancing while in lockdown goes viral

Elderly people currently in isolation at Sheraton Court in Warren Road were seen joyfully dancing in windows to New York New York being played outside by Josh Murphy and Brian Baines.
The magic moment was captured on camera by Louise Reynolds who happened to be walking past at the time on Monday evening, just as strict new lockdown measures were announced by Boris Johnson.
It has been shared more than 500 times on Facebook.
Louise said she was moved to tears by the scenes.

Hide AdShe told the Mail: “It was lovely. I work in care myself looking after people in their own homes.
“It was really nice to see some happiness and smiling faces, priceless.”
Sheraton Court is run by care company HC One which is currently limiting non-essential visits to help protect residents and staff from coronavirus including routine visits from relatives and loved ones, hairdressers and entertainers.
Carole Thomson, home manager at Sheraton Court, said: “We were absolutely delighted by the community spirit which brought so much joy to our residents and colleagues alike.“Residents enjoyed dancing to the music and I want to extend my sincere thanks to the two gentlemen who performed this incredible act of kindness for our residents.”
The gesture was also well received by relatives of residents and viewers.
One woman said on Facebook: “Fantastic my mam loved it in there xx”.
