Middleton Grange shopping centre in Hartlepool is still open for stores selling essential items during the coronavirus lockdown.

A total of 14 stores selling mostly food, medicines and toiletries, plus a number of stalls in the indoor market, are still operating following strict new measures announced by the Prime Minister on Monday evening.

A number of retailers had already closed in the shopping centre for the time being including River Island, New Look, Clarks, CEX and Pandora jewellers.

In the latest update Middleton Grange said: “Following the continued development of the COVID-19 (coronavirus) situation, and in line with government restrictions, the centre remains open for essential goods and services ONLY.
