In the ad, the council asks: “Do you have the passion to make a difference in a local authority dedicated to improving the wellbeing of people in Hartlepool?

"We are looking for a public health professional to lead us through an exciting period to integrate and champion the public health agenda in our services and in the wider community.

"Working closely with the Director of Public Health this key post will develop and deliver the public health agenda to improve the standards that will make a lasting difference to the life chances of children and adults in an area that has some of the most significant inequalities in the country.

"We want to use your significant aptitude for managing change, leading and inspiring others to build on previous successes and address remaining challenges, making a real difference within Hartlepool.”

The job will involve working across the council, with NHS bodies, including advice to Clinical Commissioning Groups and the council’s won health and wellbeing board, and other partner agencies, as well as influencing the private, voluntary and community sectors that can impact on health.

The closing date is Friday, February 19.

The advert also states the council is “ambitious with a track record of excellence providing an exciting workplace for dedicated professionals with an ambition to make a difference” adding it recognises the challenges it faces and is determined to overcome them to achieve its vision for the town.

The advert goes on to say: “As a smaller authority, we offer the perfect opportunity for you to make your mark at this exciting period of change for us.

"The next three years will be a defining period in the history of Hartlepool and our ambition is that the town will be a vibrant, welcoming and inspiring place to live, visit, work and invest.”
