But this is no ordinary step back in time. We are focusing on the excellent work that Hartlepool and East Durham’s eateries do in the community.
Some have raised money for charity. Others have backed a local football team or helped to train a new generation of chef talent. And one has even hosted a meeting of a youth parliament.
But don’t just take our word for it. Take a look for yourself.
Sadly, we can’t enjoy a night out at a restaurant or a snack inside a cafe during the pandemic lockdown. But they will be back and in the meantime, let’s pay tribute to an industry that Hartlepool excels in.
