We miss them and here they are at their finest - let's remind ourselves of the wonderful teachers of Hartlepool and East Durham

Teachers across Hartlepool and East Durham get our attention in today’s trip down Memory Lane and we know many of you will be missing them.

We have gathered some more images from the Hartlepool Mail archives, each showing a teacher who has given sterling service to the children of the area.

Take a look and see if you can spot a teacher who you knew and admired from your time in the classroom.

Some are recent and some from further back but they have one thing in common – they will be remembered by many.

Another 2016 reminder and it shows Ben Holden having a sponsored head shave in aid of Macmillan. The barber was his best friend and fellow teacher Ben Wainwright who was leaving the school after nine years there.
