Prince Philip was a regular visitor to HMS Warrior. Bands would entertain the shoppers in the Middleton Grange Shopping Centre and they would do it next to the curly ramp.
Shoppers would take a look in Binns or Woolworths for bargains and look round Frank Wrights for books.
