The Great British Bake Off has returned and that means tellies turning on by the millions.
But it also gives us a chance to reflect on some great baking scenes closer to home. Here are nine photos from Hartlepool and East Durham over the years, each showing people either baking cakes for charity, or tucking into some tasty fare.
