Learner drivers are being offered the chance to save more than £100 on their lessons as part of a deal between the UK’s biggest driving school and a dash cam firm.

Both firms say they hope the partnership will help educate new drivers on how technology can help them on the road, as well as provide them with evidence should they ever be involved in an incident.
Andy Mitchell, commercial director at RED Driving School, added: “As technology increasingly becomes a part of the world we live in, we are championing the education of learner drivers in its use, preparing them for life on the roads.

One in 10 drivers already owns a dash cam and, unsurprisingly, Nextbase wants to increase that. It argues that the devices can support drivers’ insurance claims and help protect them from fraud such as crash-for-cash schemes and cases of unreasonable injury claims.

“Though dash cams are continuing to grow in popularity year-on-year, we believe that more can be done to educate on the importance of these products, and we are excited about the prospect that partnering with RED presents.
“If we are able to get a dash cam in the vehicle of a motorist from the day they start learning to drive, then it is likely that they will stick with the technology for years to come. I truly believe that this will make the roads a safer place.”
