Families and big kids can enjoy the classic 1982 animated film, adapted from Raymond Briggs’ timeless picture book, on the big screen accompanied live by Royal Northern Sinfonia playing Howard Blake’s enchanting score on three dates over the Christmas period (Tuesday 22 December 2pm [relaxed performance] and 5pm; Wednesday 23 December, 11am, 2pm and 5pm; Thursday 24 December, 11am and 2pm).

Now a Christmas tradition at the music venue, Sage Gateshead has delighted sell-out audiences of all ages with screenings of The Snowman accompanied by live music since the building opened to the public in December 2004.
