The 1 Hart, 1 Mind, 1 Future group has lots of great ideas for this year and they include everything from pizza to quizzes and hand cream to a discussion group.

The group’s Parent Carer Link Worker, Tracie Bestford told of the plans for 2021, including some which will be held virtually.

“We are now going to be holding a parents discussion group every Friday from 11am to 12pm,” said Tracie.

"This is to give parents information on what is going on for them in the local community, to pass on any information and advice we have received, and to generally support parents and carers.

“We are also going to be having a ‘family night’ the last Thursday of every month where we have pizza or bingo or quiz, where all the family can join in and have a bit of fun!”

But the group’s plans do not end there.

Tracie added: “We are currently putting together some ‘wellness packages’ for our parents and hope to have these out in the next couple of weeks. This will include a little pamper package, face masks, hand cream, calming balm etc… Just what every hectic parent needs in this current lockdown.”

But the group wants more Hartlepool families to come forward and join the group.

Tracie added: “We would really like more families to engage in our forum. There is so much we can offer families, they just need to register with us.”

Spokesperson Chris Fewster previously told the Hartlepool Mail: “We work closely with other charities in Hartlepool as well as statutory services to ensure families have access to the right support at the right time.

“Families do not need to have a diagnosis and we are open to support all families of children with additional needs and disabilities up to 25 years old.”
