The Hartlepool Mail told earlier this month how Talia had reacher her 12 birthday. Talia had hundreds of seizures a day when she was first born and doctors told her mum Clair she may not survive infancy. In the years that followed, she has also tackled epilepsy, brain cysts and numerous chest problems.

But through it all, Winston has always been a loyal friend and Clair explained: “He is so gentle.

"He loves our Talia and he is so good with her. He sits at her feet and lies next to her. He also has to greet her as soon as I bring her in from anywhere.”

Winston has been part of the Foster family since he was a puppy.

And as well as helping Talia, he also loves to dress up and can be found in a wonderful array of outfits – from footballer to sunbather and selfie star to super hero.
