A trip to East Durham farm to see if Baabra the sheep can predict outcome of England v Croatia in World Cup
Meet Baabra our woolly wonder – who has put her psychic skills to the test to predict the result of England’s opening World Cup match.
The competition finally kicks off for the Three Lions on Wednesday, June 17, when they face Croatia in the United States.
The team will be hoping to get off to a winning start in the group stage which also includes Panama and Ghana.
To forecast the result, we paid a visit to Tweddle Farm at Blackhall and asked the young sheep – who is always the first to sense when it is meal time – to put her predicting powers to the test.

She was given a choice of munching food from one of three blind bowls to decide if England will win, lose or draw their opening match.
After much deliberation, Baabra, one of several lambs born at the farm earlier this year, selected the bowl marked “win”.
Phoebe Wayman, Tweddle Farm’s manager, said: “We can’t wait. We love the football here.”
Farm hand Harry La-Page, who guided the sheep through the tricky decision, admitted to not being a massive England fan himself, but will get let himself be caught up in the excitement.

He said: “I don’t mind going out to watch it with a few drinks. It will be nice if England win.”
As to Baabra’s mental ability, Harry added: “She’s never been wrong in anything I’ve asked of her.
“The sheep are great. They each have their own personality and they’re obviously adorable.”
We will be checking back in with Baabra to get her predictions for England’s other group stage matches.
