A Hartlepool health ‘ambassador’ has issued a challenge for town people to shape up in 21 days.

Ian Glass has urged people to join in a new fitness drive which he has just launched on social media.

The new Minds for Men health and fitness ambassador believes Hartlepool could even set a new ‘first’ in the UK.

He said: “I don’t think there is a town in the country which has reversed its obesity problem but if we can have an impact in Hartlepool and be the first in the country to do it, that would be amazing.

"In 12 months time, we could all look back and think ‘wow we did that’.”

Minds For Men and Wellness For Women is the latest development from the Miles for Men team.

Since then, Minds For Men and Wellness For Women has itself grown into a success.

Ian said: “This isn’t telling people they have to get to a gym. If we can get people moving and reducing their calorie intake, it will play a massive part in the fitness and mental health aspect.”

The challenge is free and Ian wants to hear from anyone who is from Hartlepool and who wants to get healthy.

He is promoting a number of rules including walking outdoors every day, no takeaways, no alcohol, and drinking three litres of water a day.

Miles for Men founder Micky Day said: “This is great. I urge everyone from Hartlepool to sign up. I think it is amazing that Ian is trying to do this and trying to help families in the town to be healthy.

"His record in helping people speaks volumes and this is why we have taken him on as an ambassador for Minds for Men and Wellness for Women."
