1,400 job-project revealed for science park
A £6.83m investment in a science park could lead to 1,400 new jobs.
The North East Technology Park in Sedgefield, has received backing from the Local Growth Fund (LGF) for the next phase of its plans. It will help fund a 1km access road from the A177 to the new 26 acre development.
Peter McDowell, business property director at Business Durham which runs NETPark, said: “Many of NETPark’s existing companies have expressed a desire to expand on the park and we’ve also had interest from companies outside of the region.”
The development forms part of a 10-year strategy which includes creating 3,000 jobs.
