Recorded at the Isle of Wight Festival in 2011, it was originally released by Concert Live, and only available as a 2CD set and digitally.

Now fans can own it on 180g limited edition white vinyl, and it’s a performance which defies the passing of the years from a Detroit band regarded as one of the forefathers of punk.

Even at 64, the frontman has lost none of his stage presence, while original Stooges James Williamson on guitar and Scott Asheton on drums show they’ve still got plenty of Raw Power in a 13-song set which starts with and draws heavily from that iconic album.

Mike Watt, bassist since their 2003 reunion, and saxophonist Steve Mackay, who sadly died this year, complete the line-up, and while not an essential record, it’s one fans and anyone with more than a passing interest in the band will enjoy.

Classics such as Search And Destroy, Gimme Danger and Shake Appeal are present and correct, while Your Pretty face Is Going To Hell makes a partial appearance as an encore.

Elsewhere, we get side two of the equally influential Fun House album, with the title track, 1970 and LA Blues completing side one.

The flipside is a bit shorter on the classics, though it does include I Wanna Be Your Dog and the closing No Fun.

Iggy is on good form, insulting the audience and demanding that the Foo Fighters’ Dave Grohl, who appears to be watching from a VIP area, join in the dancing.

The only disappointment is the complete lack of sleevenotes – a missed opportunity to wax lyrical about this most essential of bands. 7/10.
