Armed police called to Hartlepool street after 'knifeman' alert
Armed police were called to a Hartlepool street early today after sightings of a man brandishing a knife.
A Cleveland Police spokesman said: "Police attended Cherelle Gardens in Hartlepool around 6am following reports of a man with a knife.
"Armed police and negotiators attended the scene and spoke, to a man who was later arrested for affray."
