The giant central defender, who signed on Thursday until the end of the season, came in for Adam Jackson, whose 100 per cent record since coming in on loan from Middlesbrough, came to an end.

Matthew Bates recovered from the back trouble which ruled him out of Tuesday night's defeat at Bristol Rovers and replaced Scott Harrison at centre-half.

It was all-change on the bench with Adam Bartlett, Dan Jones and Michael Woods named among the seven, with Tony Caig, Scott Harrison and Josh Laurent losing their places in the match-day 18.
