Body found in wooded area near Hartlepool street after emergency services called

Cleveland Police and the North East Ambulance Service attended Tremaine Close, Hartlepool, on Sunday, May 24 at around 8.20pm.

Speaking on Tuesday, May 26 a spokeswoman for Cleveland Police confirmed that a 15-year-old boy was found dead in a wooded area nearby.

She said: “Police were called to a wooded area near Tremaine Close in Hartlepool on the evening of Sunday, May 24.

“Sadly the body of a young male was discovered at the scene.

“His family was notified and officers are supporting them through this difficult time. Our thoughts and sympathies remain with them.

“There are not believed to be any suspicious circumstances surrounding his death and a file will be prepared for the coroner.”

A spokesperson for the North East Ambulance Service confirmed the attendance of a double-crewed ambulance, specialist paramedic, clinical care manager and doctor from the Great North Air Ambulance.
