Charity benefits thanks to generous firms at Hartlepool Business Awards evening

For guests at last month’s Hartlepool Business Awards – whose partners include the Hartlepool Mail – generously supported the event’s two nominated charities.

Organisers have now handed over £900 to both Parents In Need of Support (PINS) and Changing Futures North East.

Reflecting on the success of the evening at the town’s Borough Hall, awards co-ordinator Andrew Steel, of Hartlepool Business Forum, said:

“Once again businesses dug deep to support the two nominated charities and collectively they raised £1,800 on the evening.

“The number of entrants has consistently increased over the last five years and it is even more pleasing to see so many new entrants over the same period too.

“I’m really pleased that two very worthwhile local charities have been able to benefit from the kind donations of those who attended the awards in May.”

PINS projects manager Steve Mudd thanked businesses for their support and said the money would be used in Hartlepool to finance computer training and arts courses.

Jayne Moules, strategic development manager for Changing Futures North East, based on the Headland, was also grateful for the donation and said it would be used to help families

needing support in the town and to provide volunteers with mentoring.
