Charity champion's latest event hailed as another big success in Hartlepool

Ste Cotson, from Hartlepool, regularly organises charity events, and the most recent of them raised £1,760 to be divided between four charities.

The fourth annual Cash 4 Cancer event was held at Owton Manor Social Club, in Wynyard Road.

It was a night of karaoke and fundraising, which also included a raffle.

Ste, who owns the LAB gym on the Headland, was helped by friends Kyle Jeffries and Micky Allen in organising the event.

The total raised over the years by Ste and his friends now stands at over £17,000.

This year, the beneficiaries were Hartlepool Families First, Newcastle’s Freeman Hospital, the Teenage Cancer Trust and Sarcoma UK.

Ste said: “We were absolutely overwhelmed with the turnout and support once again. We raised an excellent amount.

“It’s so good to have the opportunity to do these nights and work alongside so many amazing people, and to be able to help families is a special feeling. I try to make a difference in any way I can, because I always think about how grateful I’d be if one of my family members was ill and needed help, and someone provided it.”

Micky said: “It was our fourth annual night and we smashed it.

“I already can’t wait for Cash 4 Cancer 5 next year.

“I can’t thank everyone enough for their support.”

Kyle said: “I’d just like to say thank you to the Manor Club for letting us use their venue, and Andrew Scotter for being our annual sponsor, providing us with tickets and designing our banner.”
