Class act - do you recognise yourself in these Hartlepool school photos of the past?

But pride of place goes to class 4A of West Hartlepool Technical Day School For Boys in 1958 - thanks to former pupil John Ralph.

“I unearthed the photo after recently moving to Yorkshire,” said the retired architectural design consultant.

“I have brilliant memories of that school. I went there in an age when you did as you were told, but you reaped the benefits of that.

“One of the boys I went to school with was Terry Francis, who scored a hattrick for Hartlepool United on his debut in November 1963.”

Other photos featured include Hart Road School in 1966-67, Oxford Street Juniors in 1968 and a mystery Galley’s Field one.
