Coastguard teams called out after dog gets stuck on a cliff side

The three coastal emergency teams received the report of the incident near to Easington Colliery at around 1pm on Friday, February 12.
It is understood that a dog had become stuck half way down the cliff at Grants Houses.

Hide AdThankfully, all rescue teams were stood down when the dog managed to make its own way to safety.
A Hartlepool Coastguard Rescue Team spokesperson said: “The team were called out this lunchtime to assist Sunderland Coastguard Rescue Team and Seaham Coastguard with a dog stuck half way down the cliff at Grants Houses near Easington Colliery.
“All teams were stood down when the dog made its own way to safety.”
Earlier this month, the RNLI and Coastguard urged the public to be safe when walking along the coast, especially near to cliffs, following the recent bad weather.
