Arrest in Hartlepool street as emergency worker assaulted and woman taken to hospital

Cleveland Police arrested a man following an incident in a Hartlepool street which saw a woman taken to hospital.

Officers were called to Fordyce Road, Hartlepool, at 10:45pm on Monday, June 22.

A force spokeswoman said: “A woman aged in her 20s was taken to the University Hospital of North Tees with an injury to her arm.

“A 30-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of assault and two counts of assault on an emergency worker.”

He remains in police custody on Tuesday, June 23.
