Arrests after alleged robbery at Hartlepool Spar

Two men are reported to have entered the Oxford Road Spar store in Hartlepool at 9.50pm on Thursday May 14.

One man allegedly had a hammer and both men are said to have demanded money from the female staff members.

Money from the till was reported stolen as well as items from the cigarette display and spirits shelf.

The men are thought to have made off in the direction of Shrewsbury Street.

Hartlepool CID made four arrests in connection with this incident, two men in their 20s have been released under investigation and two men, one aged 32 and one aged 40, have been bailed.

Inquiries into this matter continue and anyone with information which may assist, including dashcam or CCTV footage, is asked to call Hartlepool CID on 101, reference 077531.
