Car towed away by police after reports it was driven 'in a dangerous manner' around Hartlepool estate

A car was seized after it was found on the roads illegally when police investigated reports it was causing problems on a Hartlepool estate.

Cleveland Police lifted the car earlier this week following a series of reports about the vehicle.

A spokesperson said: “Officers from Hartlepool Neighbourhood Policing Team seized a Black Peugeot motor vehicle on Monach Road after receiving several reports from residents about the vehicle being driven in a dangerous and antisocial manner on the Owton Manor estate.

"The vehicle was uninsured and notified off-road by the DVLA.

"This type of activity can really affect the quality of life for our residents and we want to reassure them that we have firm plans in place to tackle it by targeting and prosecuting offenders and seizing their vehicles.”
