Crook admits Hartlepool burglary of man in his 80s where £5,000 of property was stolen

A man has admitted burgling the home of a man in his eighties and stealing £5,000 worth of property.

Michael Andrew Metcalfe, 33, pleaded guilty to the burglary in Hutton Avenue, Hartlepool, on June 15, when he appeared at Teesside Magistrates Court.

He stole photographic equipment and biscuits valued at £5,000.

Cleveland Police said officers from the Hartlepool response team, CID and forensics worked together to investigate and arrest Metcalfe, of West View Road, Hartlepool.
