Driving while using a phone, speeding and driving without a licence – the latest motoring offences in court round-up

Nicola Jane Harrison, 38, of Kelso Grove, Hartlepool, was fined £660 after it was proven she failed to identify a driver to police. She was given six penalty points and ordered to pay £85 costs and a £66 surcharge.

Paul Stephen Hedley, 44, of Prior Court, Billingham, was found to have driven without insurance and without a licence. He was fined £660 and ordered to pay a £66 surcharge and £85 costs. He was also given six penalty points.

Gillian Keegan, 52, of Thackeray Road, Hartlepool, was found to have driven on Trenchard Avenue in Stockton contrary to a local traffic order. She was fined £220 and ordered to pay £85 costs and a £30 surcharge. She was also given three penalty points.

Philip Patrick McCann, 31, of Annandale Crescent, Hartlepool, was fined £660 for failing to give information about a driver to the police. He was ordered to pay £85 costs and a £66 surcharge and given six penalty points.

Penny McVeigh, 34, of Newbury Way, Billingham, was fined £660 after it was proven she drove without a licence and without insurance. She was given six penalty points and ordered to pay £85 costs and a £66 surcharge.

Luke James Leslie Metcalf, 22, of Driffield Way, Billingham, was fined £461 after it was proven he drove a car whilst using a handheld phone. He was given six penalty points and ordered to pay £85 costs and a £46 surcharge.

Christopher Rigby, 35, of Jaywood Close, Hartlepool, was fined £66 for speeding on Easington Road in the town. He was ordered to pay £85 costs and a £30 surcharge and given three penalty points.

James Rooney, 41, of Kinbrace Road, Hartlepool, was fined £220 for speeding on the town’s Coast Road. He was given three penalty points and ordered to pay £85 costs and a £30 surcharge.

Andrew Rowbotham, 22, of West View Road, Hartlepool, was found guilty of driving on the town’s Marina Way without a licence or insurance. He was fined £660 and ordered to pay £85 costs and a £66 surcharge as well as being given six penalty points.
