Elderly woman taken to hospital after collision at Sappers Corner in Greatham

A Cleveland Police spokesperson confirmed she had been treated at scene before being transferred although it is not believed she was badly hurt.

A statement read: “A two-vehicle collision involving a VW Scirocco and a Jaguar took place just after 10am on Sunday on the A689 westbound at Sapper’s Corner.

“One driver, an elderly woman, was checked at the scene and later taken to hospital.

“Both vehicles were recovered from the scene after being badly damaged.”
