Four men handed Community Protection Warnings after anti-social behaviour at football games in Hartlepool

Police have dealt with four men who caused problems at local football matches.

On Wednesday, February 12 officers from the police’s Football Operations Unit and the Community Safety Team issued Community Protection Warnings to four men aged 24, 25, 30 and 55 after alcohol related anti-social behaviour at football games in Hartlepool.

Breaches can result in fines and possible Criminal Behaviour Orders (CBO’s) and banning orders.

Sergeant Adrian Dack of the Football Operations Unit, said: “Week in, week out we have to deploy our resources to policing football fixtures due to the minority of people who want nothing more than to engage in disorder which impacts on our community.

“This also means we have to divert our resources away from dealing with other crimes that get reported. As well as looking at obtaining banning orders this is another piece of legislation that we will look at using with the support of our partners.”
