Fugitive hides from police in hole in the bathroom floor

Police were floored when they found a Hartlepool fugitive’s hiding place.

The town’s CID, working alongside specialist officers, this morning arrested a 24-year-old man they found hiding in the floor.

Officers attended the man’s address in the town and a thorough search of the property revealed him in a cubby hole in the bathroom floor, with a bath mat concealing the entry to the hiding place.

The man was arrested on suspicion of breaching a sexual harm prevention order.

He remains in police custody and enquiries continue.
