Guns, knives and drugs seized in Hartlepool house raids

A man has been arrested on suspicion of firearms and drugs offences after police raided two properties in the same street.

Guns, knives and quantities of what are believed to be class B and C drugs were all seized after detectives obtained warrants to enter two homes in Kendal Road, in the Belle Vue area of Hartlepool, on Wednesday, July 22, as part of Operation Phoenix.

Cleveland Police said a 51-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of drugs offences and possessing firearms without a certificate.

A statement released by the force on Wednesday night said: “Our inquiries continue.”

Operation Phoenix is the force’s summer-long operation to improve public service, prioritise vulnerability, tackle suspected serious violence and prevent crime.

Anyone with any further information which may assist the force’s investigation is asked to call Cleveland Police on 101, quoting reference number 118340.
