Rhys Parker, 21, was in the home of Summer Lewis, who he was banned from seeing, when the police arrived after being tipped off.

Ansab Shan, prosecuting, said Parker, of Wynyard Mews, was made the subject of a two-year restraining order in September last year preventing him from contacting Ms Lewis.

Parker pleaded guilty to breaching the order when he appeared before Teesside Magistrates’ Court via a video link from prison.

Mr Shan said: “On January 15 this year police received information from a member of the public stating the defendant was inside the home address of Summer Lewis and clearly in breach of the restraining order.

“Police have spoken to Summer Lewis who stated only she was present at the address.”

Police searched the property and found Parker hiding in a bedroom.

Parker said he didn’t believe he had breached the order because Summer hadn’t signed it.

He said the breach was originally put in place after Parker appeared in court for criminal damage and battery against Ms Lewis.

Mr Shan said following the breach Ms Lewis would not co-operate with the police or provide any information and he added there is still 18 months left on the restraining order.

Stuart Haywood, defending, said his client admitted the breach and was found at Ms Lewis’ house.

He added: “He was clearly there with her consent and permission.”

Parker was given an eight-week prison sentence for the breach and ordered to pay a £122 victim surcharge.
