Hartlepool man caught drug-driving in Mini Cooper

A Hartlepool man has been fined for driving under the influence of drugs.

Craig William Johnson, 34, of Christopher Street pleaded guilty to driving with benzoylecgonine above the limit.

Johnson was stopped by police on Baltic Street on July 18 this year driving a Mini Cooper with 119 microgramms of the drug in per litre of blood, with the limit being 50.

He was fined £100 and ordered to pay £300 costs and a £32 surcharge.
