Hartlepool man's death 'not suspicious' police confirm following investigation

A man’s death in Hartlepool is not being treated as suspicious, police have confirmed.

Police were called to an address on Duke Street in the town at around 2pm on April 10, following reports of a man’s death.

But now Cleveland Police have confirmed that the death is not being treated as suspicious, following the results of a post-mortem.

The three people who were arrested on April 10 in connection with the man’s death will face no further action on that matter.

A force spokeswoman said: “The death of a man at an address in Duke Street, Hartlepool is not being treated as suspicious.

“The death was sadly reported yesterday afternoon (Friday April 10).

“Police began an investigation but the results of a post-mortem mean it will not continue and detectives do not believe there were any suspicious circumstances.

“A file will be prepared for the coroner.

“Three people, two men and a woman, arrested yesterday in connection with the man’s death will face no further action on that matter.”
