Hartlepool passenger's £460 bill at Teesside Magistrates' Court for dodging £4.40p rail fare

The following cases from the Hartlepool area were dealt with recently at Teesside Magistrates’ Court:

Matthew Carnell, 25, of St Paul’s Road, Hartlepool, was fined £40 after he admitted one count of breaching a community order after failing to keep in contact with an officer.

John Evans, 23, of Wilkinson Road, Horden, was ordered to pay a £220 fine, £3.80p compensation, £88 victim surcharge and £150 prosecution costs after he was convicted in his absence of failing to pay a £3.80p rail fare on February 8.

Jamie Johnson, 28, of Ash Crescent, Peterlee, was ordered to pay a £220 fine, £6.10p compensation, £88 victim surcharge and £150 costs after he was convicted in his absence of failing to pay a £6.10p rail fare on February 17.

Jordan Johnston, 23, of Sidlaw Road, Billingham, was ordered to pay a £220 fine, £4.40p compensation, £88 victim surcharge and £150 costs after he was convicted in his absence of failing to pay a £4.40p rail fare on February 2.

Thomas Smith, 37, of Lister Street, Hartlepool, was ordered to pay a £220 fine, £4.40p compensation, £88 victim surcharge and £150 costs after he was convicted in his absence of failing to pay a £4.40p rail fare on February 23.

John Jenkins-Halcrow, 18, of Thackeray Road, Hartlepool, received an absolute discharge after he admitted driving without valid insurance on October 19.

Dean Kevin Holliday, 38, of Everitt Street, Hartlepool, was fined £169 after he admitted one count of breaching a community order after failing to attend scheduled appointments.
