Hartlepool pensioner, 68, facing prison after admitting drugs offences

William George Teal, 68, appeared before Teesside Crown Court where he admitted possessing amphetamine with intent to supply it to another and having over 500 class C drug tablets, also with intent to supply.

Both of the offences date back to August 30 of 2019.

Teal was due to be dealt with by the court on Thursday, June 24, but the case was adjourned as he missed an appointment for a pre-sentence report.

His defence barrister, Stephen Constantine, also asked for more time to get information on Teal’s ongoing health issues.

Teal, of Monkton Road, Hartlepool, is due back before the court on Friday, August 6.

Recorder Andrew Dallas said: “Before that I’m going to give you one final chance to cooperate with the probation service in the preparation of a report about you which is in your interest.”

But he said custody would be “uppermost” in the sentencing judge’s mind.
