Man arrested after drugs, knives, wooden bat and knuckleduster seized from car in Hartlepool

A man was arrested after police seized weapons and drugs from his car in Hartlepool.

Officers found class A and B drugs, as well as a knuckle duster, several knives and a wooden bat, when they stopped and searched a Ford Fiesta in the town’s Greta Avenue on Saturday, May 22.

The male driver of the vehicle, aged 25, was arrested, before being released pending further inquiries.

A Cleveland Police statement said: “Road policing officers stopped and searched a Ford Fiesta vehicle which they believed was uninsured on Greta Avenue, in Hartlepool, on Saturday, May 22, as part of Operation Endeavour, a force-wide operation to tackle serious and organised crime.

“Class A and B drugs were seized from the car as well as a knuckle duster, several knives and a wooden bat.

“The driver aged 25 was arrested on suspicion of drugs and driving offences and for possessing an offensive weapon in a public place.

“He has been released pending further inquiries.”
