A man has been arrested on suspicion of drug offences as weapons are seized from Hartlepool property.

Hartlepool Neighbourhood Team executed a drugs warrant at an address in the Victoria ward area of the town on Thursday morning (November 26) leading to the arrest of a man and the recovery of weapons.

The team entered a property just after 8am this morning and arrested a 28-year-old man on suspicion of drug offences.

A photograph shared by Cleveland Police shows the weapons which were seized from the property.

The activity was part of joint work with the National Crime Agency and the North East Regional Special Operations Unit.

PC Johnson, from the Hartlepool team, said: “Today’s warrant resulted in an arrest and the recovery of a number of weapons.

“We’d like to remind people that if they are concerned about potential crime in their neighbourhood to contact police on 101 so we can take action.”

The man remains in custody while investigations continue.
