Police have arrested a man in connection with the rape of a teenage girl in Billingham.
Cleveland Police issued a plea for the public’s help on Monday, June 15, after revealing how the 16-year-old girl suffered an “horrific ordeal” in the early hours of Thursday, May 28, in the Billingham area.
They have now confirmed on Tuesday that a 26-year-old local man has been arrested following the appeal and is in custody while officers continue their investigation.
