Man arrested on suspicion of wounding with intent after York Road in Hartlepool was cordoned off by police

Emergency services were called to the town centre road at around 2.40pm on Tuesday, December 29, after receiving reports of an injured male.
Now a 19-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of wounding with intent and officers have confirmed that he remains in police custody at this time.

Hide AdA Cleveland Police spokesperson said: “A 19-year-old male was arrested in connection with the incident on suspicion of wounding with intent and remains in custody.
“The injured male has been discharged from hospital.”
The man was taken to hospital by the North East Ambulance Service (NEAS) who had requested the help of the Great North Air Ambulance, which had landed in the car park of Tesco Extra on Belle Vue Way.
A North East Ambulance spokesperson said: “We were called to the York Road area of Hartlepool at 2.39pm this afternoon (Tuesday, December 29) following reports of an injured male.

Hide Ad"We dispatched a double crewed ambulance, one crew from our hazardous area response team, a rapid response paramedic and requested support from the Great North Air Ambulance.
"One patient was transported to hospital by road.”
