Man charged with criminal damage after being found hiding in a property by Police dog Rocky

Police investigating a reported burglary in Hartlepool have charged a man with criminal damage after a window was smashed and then he was discovered hiding in a property by a police dog.

Officers from Cleveland Police’s Response and Dog Unit were deployed to a reported burglary taking place at a property on Eton Street in Hartlepool.

Police have revealed that the incident took place on Saturday, February 6.

It is understood that a man had smashed a window at the property in question during the incident and was trying to avoid capture.

The man was subsequently arrested at the scene and has since been charged with criminal damage over the broken window.

Cleveland Police have confirmed that he will appear in court on March 16 to face the charges.
